Either because God is not real, or because if he is real, he is not all-powerful/all-knowing/all-loving. He can't be all three. Take your question into consideration. Either he didn't have the power to keep your houses from being blown away, he didn't know that your houses were going to be blown away, or he didn't love/care about you enough to stop it from happening. God cannot be all three: all-powerful/all-knowing/all-loving. I am agnostic, so...yeah.

If it makes sense to you that someone would essentially kill themselves to get back at their opposition, that's your prerogative. It's not your prerogative, however, to make assumptions about my knowledge of the matter. Before transitioning to atheism in early December 2012, I had been a Christian for 19 years and am still reading the bible, although for a different reason. Pat Robertson could run in 2016. He would be the oldest president in history. I think he would be very strong and tough on foreign policy. I think he would be more forceful and more rigorous at standing up to terrorists and other threats.

That's because Obama doesn't radically differ from the majority. He differs from about 30% of the nation, the same 30 % (or so) that thought Bush was an awesome president, and the Republican's single party approach is the best thing for the nation (regardless of the damage they have all done to the nation)
