A 1970's edition of the seminal Children's TV show "The Magic Roundabout" written and voiced by the unique Eric Thompson. Why this isn't repeated or released on DVD is beyond me. Classic stuff!!! More

'This is just your friendly70s-voice, rather polite sounding continuity announcer reassuraning you, children, that no drugs at all were involved in the making of this program. So enjoy your corn flakes and be off to school with you. (If I were a Yank I'd call 'em scamps, I guess, or buckees or some-fucking-idiotic-thing; just piss off outya our sight for some hours, let the teachers deal with ya for a while; christ what a frigging drag they are ... ah ... Mike off please ... sorry about that.'

Anyone else think Eric Thompson sounds like Kenneth Branagh? And the two are linked because of Emma Thompson.

Right now, I'm making a playlist of old-ish cartoons for my sister, 'cause I don't think she should be missing out. Plus, the newer series is just plain depressing... So, thanks for uploading this, sir. :)

Yep, John Ryan won Retractions and a settlement from a couple of newspapers about this. Some guys at work were discussing this, and it got very heated, some claiming that they actually heard this on the actual cartoons. No way.
Noel Broadhead Says:
'course, that was all made up... no such characters existed, sadly.

The British script is obviously totally different from the original - references to the Strand and Southend rather give it away. lol

Cj McKay Says:
Mary Whitehouse never banned a TV show, she was just a campaigner and largely ignored by the BBC management. Zebedee only occasionally said 'time for bed.' Thompson did base Dougal somewhat upon Hancock though.
